3 STEPS SIMPLE PROCESS

PLEASE NOTE : Zee Writers Room selection process does NOT require the submission of original story pitches, previous written material, past work samples, resumes, script drafts, concepts, ideas, or synopses for evaluation. Candidates will be first shortlisted on the basis of their screenwriting merit as demonstrated through the handwritten test conducted during the selection event.

Selections process starts with the handwritten test where you will be given a set of Questions designed to test how you think and write. Blank answer sheets will be provided to you to write all answers within the mentioned words and time limit.

You can reach the centre anytime between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM on the day of the test and validate your details at the desk. Kindly keep enough time in hand for the 3 hours test + 1 extra hour for verification and settling into rooms. Entry after 2PM may be disallowed.

You can walk into the centre with a pen and a valid government-issued Photo ID for verification. You will be issued a Participant Number on the spot and seated in batches. No need to bring any scripts, stories, ideas, books or pre-written documents for the test.

Yes! We are bound by law to offer this opportunity to resident Indian citizens of age 18 years or above only. There is no upper limit for age.

Sure, you can! We are open to select freshers as well as experienced writers to join our Writers Room, if we find the right spark, skills and potential in their screenwriting.

No! Use mobile phone, laptop or electronic devices is strictly not allowed during the test. If you bring it, please store it away on silent mode to avoid disturbing others.

There is no Fees to be paid for participating in ZEE WRITERS ROOM Selections. Admission is free of charge.

This is not a competitive exam with a fixed syllabus. There is no need to practise any papers, sample questions, topics or examples. Just bring your creativity and writing skills with you for the test.

At the moment, Selection tests are being conducted in person at the centres mentioned in the Schedule. We do not have the provision for remote/online tests or submissions.

Zee team has started reading and evaluating the Answer sheets. Shortlisted participants will be called for a face-to-face discussion at Zee’s Head Office or Regional Office. Due to the sheer number of participants, it will not be possible for us to individually inform those who are not selected.
